Pair of vintage English blue and white transferware butter pats (individual butter dishes) produced by William Adams & Sons, Staffordshire, England.
Decorated in a rich cobalt blue Chinoiserie print featuring a bird among botanical elements surrounded by a fretwork/lattice border. Originally created to serve individual pats of butter at formal dining tables, today they make wonderful trinket dishes, salt cellars, or coasters under pepper grinders and candles.
8cm wide each.
