Our Story

May & Fairfax began in 2021 as a creative outlet to share my growing passion for interiors and lifestyle. My husband and I were 2 years in to our first home and we were finding the high street interior offering bland and uninspiring. We often sought out more unique pieces to our taste, doing a lot of up-cycling and sourcing pre-loved pieces. I’ve always loved the thrill of finding something unique, digging through charity shops and antique stores to find the perfect piece. That’s why after a 2 year pause I’m bringing back May & Fairfax and focusing on sourcing unique items for you. 

Why antiques, vintage and handmade? Well I love the sustainable side and can’t ever bring myself to shop from the likes of Temu. Antiques and vintage have stories to tell. They’ve probably gone in and out of style multiple times and they’ve seen and been part of many lives. I also just like having something unique and interesting that not everyone else can easily get, as is human nature. 

So what should you expect? I’ll be pretty much sourcing anything that brings me joy. If it helps, our taste is a chaotic mix of British countryside, rustic Provence and New England. A good splash of Nancy Meyers meet Ralph Lauren meets The Cotswolds and you’re there.

All these pieces will have been hand-picked and mulled over by me, and I have of course had to resist keeping every single one. I hope you like them as much as I do.
