Antique 1890s Elijah Brain Blue Willow Plate – Fenton Pottery Staffordshire Transferware
Featuring the iconic "Blue Willow" pattern, this late Victorian plate illustrates the classic romantic fable with its iconic soaring doves, weeping willow, grand mandarin estate, and geometric border.
The underside features the distinct stamped shield-and-crest mark of E.B. & J.E.L., denoting the historic partnership of Elijah Brain and J. E. Lockett at the Fenton Pottery in Staffordshire, England. Accompanied by a crisp "ENGLAND" stamp and a hand-painted artisan's mark, this plate dates to the 1890s.
Whether displayed on a plate stand, added to a gallery wall collection or as a lean to on a shelf, this 100+ year old plate is a gorgeous addition.
Crazing and some indentations on front and back where it may have been mounted previously. No large chips or cracks.
