Late 18th Century Pearlware Chestnut Basket Stand – Reticulated Edge

£50.00

A gorgeous example of late 18th-century English Pearlware, this oval chestnut basket stand (c. 1790–1805) features a delicate hand-cut reticulated (pierced) border in a classic "vertical slat" or picket-fence style. The print design is a blue and white transfer of a stylised Oriental landscape, reflecting the Georgian era's fascination with Chinese exports. The reverse features a hand-painted blue Pseudo-Chinese "Star and Stick" mark on the reverse—a classic mark used by high-end English potters (such as Leeds or Liverpool) to mimic imported Nanking porcelain.
