Antique Wood & Sons Venice Large Platter 1915

Made by Wood & Sons in Staffordshire, this large oval transferware platter is semi-porcelain. The blue decorative edging print is their “Venice” pattern, and the platter was made in August 1915. It’s in superb condition for its age, with no crazing, no chips and no cracks. Only some imperfections in the glaze on the edges likely done in production. The back features the Wood & Sons stamp, as well as 8 and 15 embossed to signify the month and year of manufacture.
